THE FINE PRINT / TERMS

Terms

Last updated October 11, 2026.

What this is

A personal internet experiment: a website that asks whether you would voluntarily send one cent to Chris, the individual who runs it. It is not a charity, a fundraiser for a cause, an investment, a lottery, or a business offering a product.

Contributions

Any contribution is a voluntary one-time gift to an individual. You receive nothing in return except the satisfaction of having participated. There is no financial return, no refund obligation, and no tax deduction. The exact amount is shown before you pay. The one-cent option adds a fee allowance, because card networks will not move less than 50 cents and PayPal charges a fixed fee per payment; the allowance is listed separately, never counted toward the goal, and anything the processor does not take stays with the gift. On larger amounts the allowance is optional and off by default.

The arithmetic

Eight billion people times one cent is $80 million. That is multiplication, not a forecast or a promise of any outcome.

Sharing

You are welcome to share the link. Do not represent this site as a charity, a company, or anything other than what it is.

Changes

These terms may change. The date at the top is the version you are reading.
